Fire Risk Assessment
The UK Fire Regulations change on 1 April 2006 and all employers will then require a fire risk assessment on their premises in order to protect staff, visitors and neighbours.
The old fire regulations are now replaced with Fire Risk Assessments.
A proper and thorough fire risk assessment is important, because there may be risks in your premises that you are unaware of.
Because we are chartered building surveyors, we understand where the problems might exist in the structure and fabric of your building and can provide independent, unbiased advice.
Many companies offer fire risk assessment services.
Most are fire extinguisher and fire safety sales companies - do you think they are the best people to provide objective, unbiased advise, or do you think that they could have a vested interest in offering a fire risk assessment service?
The Edgeworth Street fire risk assessment service is designed to suit you and your circumstances. There is no hidden agenda, as we have nothing to sell you!
The advice provided with your fire risk assessment will be right for your business and although there will be recommendations for action, that action will not necessarily involve you spending additional money. Many fire prevention measures have no-cost fixes.
The aim of a fire risk assessment is to identify and eliminate (or reduce) the risk of fire in your premises. Although the new laws concerning fire prevention in the workplace are strict, it is in everyone's interest to carry out a fire risk assessment.
Our service is fast, friendly and above all, tailored to suit your needs as an employer. We understand the issues that businesses face and can cut through the beaurocracy and red tape to provide you not only with a meaningful document that meets all of the regulations, but also something that you can use constantly to improve your procedures and potentially save lives.
In the unlikely event that our fire risk assessment recommends a substantial capital spend for the installation of fire prevention equipment, we offer a project management service that takes in everything from the initial tendering of the work, selection of suitably qualified and approved contractors, through to final installation and sign-off.
This additional service will save you money, because the suppliers would be quoting against a set specification that suits you, not them!
